Did you know that more than 80% of adult men have a curvature of the penis to some degree. This can be the result of 2 things. The 1st is congenital curvature, this basicaly means that you were born with it. You also have perionies desise, which results from damage to the penis.
In either case, it is completely normal, regardless of wether it bends left or right, up or down.
Although this usualy causes no problems for most, in others it can. Some problems encountered are failure to gain an erection due to paranioa or depression related to it. Discomfort or difficulty during intercourse, Pain when being straightened by hand, and worry.
If you find yourself suffering any of the above, you should contact your GP. They should then check it out for you, and then refer you to your local urology clinic. If they don't seem to be taking it seriously demand to see another GP or book an appointment at your local NHS urologists yourself.
The urologist will go through everything in detail with you. There is an operation called the "Nesbit" procedure. This is where they basicaly cut some of the inner sponge like tissue away and re-stitch it so that the penis is straight. Though note that you will only be considered if the curve is more than 30 degree's, any less and you will need to go private.
You need to make it clear to them that it is disrupting your sexual activity, and causing you upset and depression. This operation should only be considered by those genuinely effected by the condition. There is a big risk of sensation loss, loss in length, and failure to this operation.
But dont suffer in silence, it really is best to see your GP about it.
If however you want to do it for cosmetic reasons, many hospitals now perform this for mild curvature, although you shall need to go private and pay for it yourself.
